Mystery of the ‘question mark’ discovered in space solved!
Scientists have recently made two major discoveries in the depths of the universe. The first of these is the “question mark” structure captured by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which quickly attracted great attention both in the scientific world and on social media. The second discovery is the work of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) team on black hole photographs. So, what does all this mean? What does the “question mark” captured by the James Webb Space Telescope mean? In 2023, the JWST captured an image that showed a remarkable “question mark” shape in deep space. At first, what this shape was was a big mystery. Various guesses were made, but this structure could not be fully explained for a long time. Detailed observations and analysis revealed that the mysterious “question mark” was actually the result of the merger of two galaxies. But this merger alone did not cause the shape to look exactly like a question mark. The gravitational lensing effect that came into play at this point made the image even more interesting. As a result of this effect, a cluster of galaxies in the foreground bends the light, the images of the merging galaxies reach us in a curved shape, creating the iconic “question mark” image. Another important discovery is the EHT team’s work on black holes. In 2019, the EHT managed to take the first photograph of a black hole in the history of mankind, which caused a stir in the scientific world. Then, in 2022, a second black hole photo was taken. Now, the EHT team is preparing to take a third black hole photo with more advanced technology and tools. The new observations will allow us to better understand the behavior of matter around black holes and how the jets are shaped. Understanding the nature of black holes in the universe will bring us one step closer to solving one of the greatest mysteries of space. What do you think about these discoveries?
